Dr Eka Ikpe is a Senior Lecturer in Development Economics in Africa. She holds a PhD in Economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Eka is a Fellow of the PLuS Alliance – a tripartite education, research and policy impact partnership across King’s College London, University of New South Wales and Arizona State University. Nairobi Partners
Lilac Osanjo has research interests in African design practice, product development and entrepreneurship. Osanjo worked as a graphic designer in advertising for a few years before embarking on a teaching career from The Kenya Polytechnic, Kenya Technical Teachers College (KTTC) and The University of Nairobi. She is a founder member of Design Kenya Society (DKS), Network of Afrikan Design (NAD) and Kenya Fashion Council. She spends her extra time mentoring young design entrepreneurs and building capacity for SME development in Kenya.
Ogake Mosomi is a Tutorial Fellow at the School of the Arts and Design, University of Nairobi. Ogake’s research interest is in developing practical training approaches for fashion designers, and looking for ways to strengthen linkages between industry and academia. She is currently a Business Coach under the Fashion DNA Project run by the British Council, a program that focuses on helping upcoming designers improve their businesses. Ogake is also a practicing fashion designer specializing in creating high-end, bespoke bridal gowns, which is in line with her passion to change perceptions about locally made products.
