 Aims & Research

This one day is aiming to bring together fashion designers in Nairobi and Kenya to reflect on their work, business and cultural practices as well as their cultural and creative designs.

With our research we hope to improve the understanding of the work of fashion designers and the connection between culture, creativity and the economy.

About the Organisers:

The workshop is organised by Dr Roberta Comunian (Department of Culture, Media and Creative Industries, King’s College London), Dr Brian Hracs (Department of Geography, University of Southampton), Wakiuru Njuguna, Investment Manager, HEVA Fund; Dr Lilac Adhiambo Osanjo and Joan Mosomi,
University of Nairobi, School of the Arts and Design.

Taking part

The workshop is open to all fashion designers in Nairobi and Kenya. We plan to involve as many people as possible, to have a broad representation of different ages and profiles (from new comers to experienced designers) . We aim for this workshop to be open and inclusive, however, we only have a limited number of places (20) to enable discussion and knowledge sharing.

If you are interested in participating in the workshop, please complete this short survey to allow us to get to know you
